ABOUT ABOUT

Role Player - Medical Preparedness and Response to Dynamic Incidents (MPaRDI)

The Southwest CT EMS Council Special Operations/Preparedness Committee (SO/P) invites you to join us for a unique training opportunity. The SO/P is offering MPaRDI Program in the City of NOrwalk:

MPaRDI is an 8-hour performance level direct delivery course designed to improve integration and medical preparedness for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) during dynamic events.

The course provides first responders with key medical skills based on tactical emergency casualty care (TECC) guidelines which can be used at the point of injury (POI) to increase survivability of victims. The course also provides a model framework for law enforcement, fire, and EMS to integrate during dynamic incidents to maximize survivability.

The second half of the program requires the attendees to apply the knowledge and skills they have aquired into practical application. Scenarios with role players are essential in this training experience. As a role player you will be given assignments to create challenges designed to enhance the learning experience. Scenarios may be created in loud, low-light, fast paced environments. Moulage/Scenario specialists utile moulage (fake injuries & theatrical blood) to re-create violent incidents.

Role players must be capable of staying in character and able to function as directed in the environment described. Role players may be handled to assess, provide care & movement. Role players clothing may become stained and/or damaged during the scenarios. Role players should wear "disposable" clothing.

Safety officers are always in attendance to ensure the health & well-being of all.

Role Players are needed from 10 am (briefing and moulage) until completion of the program at 4 pm.
