ABOUT ABOUT

Role Player - NCBRT-LSU PER-340

The National Center for Biomedical Research and Training (NCBRT) at Louisiana State University invites you to join us for a unique training opportunity. The NCBRT is offering the following Department of Homeland Security (DHS) certified course:

Active Threat Integrated Response Course (ATIRC) is a 24-hour performance level direct delivery course designed to improve integration between law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) in active shooter events.

The course provides law enforcement officers with key medical skills based on tactical emergency casualty care (TECC) guidelines which can be used at the point of injury (POI) to increase survivability of victims. The course also provides a model framework for law enforcement, fire, and EMS to integrate responses during an active shooter event through the rescue task force concept using the Active Shooter Incident Management Checklist.

Day 3 of the program requires the attendees to apply the knowledge and skills they have aquired into practical application. Scenarios with role players are essential in this training experience. As a role player you will be given assignments to create challenges designed to enhance the learning environment. Scenarios may be created in loud, low-light, fast paced environments. Moulage/Scenario specialists utilize moulage (fake injuries & theatrical blood) to re-create violent incidents.Role players will be given assignments, provided with props or moulage (fake injuries) and be directed to act in a manner consistant with their "condition" and the scenario. You will recieve coaching and a safety brief.

Role players must be capable of staying in character and able to function as directed in the environment described. Role players may be handled to assess, provide care & movement. Role players clothing may become stained and/or damaged during the scenarios. Role players should wear "disposable" clothing.

Safety officers are always in attendance to ensure the health & well-being of all.

Role Players are needed full or half day.
